In
1960 I became a resident of Orange County, where I attended and
graduated from the Washingtonville Central School District. Since 1970 I
have been employed in the Railroad Industry and currently work for
Metro-North Commuter Railroad as a Manager in the Operations Department.
My own “Equine Affaire” began in 1961 when my parents sent me for riding
lessons at Clove Acres Ranch then owned and operated by Henry Tuthill. I
was hooked and I purchased my first horse a few years later, boarding at
various locations in the area. 1977 brought the purchase my own farm in
Salisbury Mills, NY, which I still call home. Trail Riding and Horse
Camping are my favorite pastimes, which have brought me the
opportunities to ride in 18 states & Canada. Somewhere along the way I
briefly worked on a cattle ranch in Arizona. Currently I provide horse
Boarding & Transportation Service for the local equine community. In
2004 Moodna Creek Ranch expanded operations into Southern Oklahoma.
My goal for the Orange County Horse Council is, with the help of a
resourceful and inclusive Executive Board, to provide a cohesive and
positive organization for the equine community.

Horses are my passion! I live in Goshen, and
currently have two Quarter Horses living on our property. Although I rode
and showed English as a child, I now ride Western, and love trail riding,
running barrels, pole bending and learning more about team penning. My
daughters ride English, so during show season that’s where I go. I want to
help our community enjoy horses, and hope that’s what we can do here at the
Horse Council.

My 30 years of horse ownership and farm
management includes, but is not limited to the following: championing
for equine rights in Orange County at the county and state level, changing
zoning in Wallkill to make it horse friendly, bringing attention to the
equine community by spending countless hours with legislators, congress and
assembly persons, and speaking with Commissioner Castro & Governor Pataki. I
was instrumental in the grant that enabled us to receive the 67 acres
property that will be the Orange County Horse and Farm Center. Mother
of 5 children, we live in Goshen where we have a commercial horse boarding
Hunter/Jumper facility. I would like
to continue to help keep Orange County an equine friendly county.
